Ideas for Pregnancy Gifts That Mom Will Love!

!±8± Ideas for Pregnancy Gifts That Mom Will Love!

When we know a woman who's expecting, we usually start fast-forward thinking to the baby shower. Pregnancy gifts are a little different - these are for Mom! Diapers, bedding, and cute stuffed animals are baby shower gifts. If you've ever been pregnant yourself, you know that expectant Moms spend a lot of time thinking about that cute little bundle of joy - after all, Mom and Baby are together 24/7 for nine months! Pregnancy gifts are a great way to make Mom's dreams a little sweeter. Here we've got some ideas to get you started.

A pregnant woman, especially as time goes on, tends to feel that she's not as attractive as she was prior to her pregnancy. While this is not usually the case, bath and toiletry items certainly help her feel attractive and pampered. Scented bath soaps, a bath pillow and a loofah all make great pregnancy gifts. You might add a couple of scented candles to this gift basket - vanilla and lavender are very relaxing scents.

Like dreams, day dreams have a way of fading over time. Why not give a pregnancy journal/calendar in which Mom can record her thoughts throughout her pregnancy? This type of journal is fun to fill in - words, drawings, poems - anything goes. Mom will love you for this gift. Think how much fun she'll have showing it to Baby later on!

Some good pregnancy gifts can be on a more practical note, such as a gift certificate to a maternity shop, or a salon where Mom can enjoy a relaxing and beautifying facial.

Here's another good idea for a pregnancy gift: There are lots of baby and parenting magazines out there. I can tell you, expecting Moms love poring through these. Get her a magazine subscription for a gift that 'keeps on giving'.

Your local bookshop, or online book vendor is another terrific resource for pregnancy gifts. A first-time Mom would surely enjoy one of the many 'self-help' style books on what to expect during pregnancy. These books are filled with valuable information and little tidbits and tips on everything baby. Other great choices include any of the classic children's books, with which Mom can start building her library of bedtime stories. There are also some excellent books on nutrition specific to pregnancy, which explain the importance of good nutrition so well, Mom will be inspired to be the healthiest pregnant Mom ever!

Speaking of good nutrition, healthy food gifts, such as a basket of organically grown fruits, make a nice gift. Most pregnant women are advised to watch their intake of caffeine while pregnant, so here's another idea: put together an herbal tea gift basket. You can also find these ready-made online.

Most Moms don't think to buy a 'pregnancy' photo album. What's that? It's where you collect your photos of all the events leading up to that important birth day, such as parties, shopping with the girls, decorating the nursery and, of course, pics of Mom as Baby grows.

Among all of the pregnancy gifts, here's a winner that requires no shopping - take her to lunch with the ladies! Be sure to take a pic for her pregnancy photo album!

Pregnancy Pillow

!±8± Pregnancy Pillow

Having a baby can be one of the most rewarding experiences that a woman can ever go through, and the nine months of pregnancy is not the least of it. However, it does come with a few side effects that can really drive you crazy. Cramps, terrible back aches and lack of sleep are just a few of these, but there is something that can help take care of these problems, at least to a certain extent. A pregnancy pillow can help a lot.

So what exactly is a pregnancy pillow? It is a long, curved pillow, rather like a curly sausage, that gives enough support to your back and your neck while letting you curl up in a semi fetal position, which is the most comfortable position for most pregnant women. A pregnancy pillow will support your growing belly and your lower back, as well, letting you sleep in comfort, and stay asleep - and, best of all, letting you wake up without your back killing you.

Once you see that one pregnancy pillow helps a lot, you might want to consider getting one more. Two can be perfect for a good night's sleep - one to support your stomach, and the second for your lower back, to make sure that you do not roll over during the night.

A pregnancy pillow is also a great option as a traveling pillow. It is also designed to help you keep your knees elevated when you sit, helping another of those annoying pregnancy side effects - swollen knees. Even while you are sitting down at home, since swollen knees become worse as the day draws to a close and thus can affect your sleep, using the pillow is a great option.

Even after your baby is born, these pillows make great, comfortable nursing tables.

While these pillows are called pregnancy pillows, they are not just meant for pregnant women. They can help anybody's posture, and most back aches are because of bad posture, so this is a good investment to make for anybody at all.

There are even such pillows available in junior size, for children. Children usually love hugging something when they sleep, and this somehow more often that not means that they hug their pillow and do not rest their heads on them. This can lead to disturbed sleep. These pillows, in junior size, can give them a pillow they can sleep on and hug at the same time.
